What a beautiful day. How on earth can we be havinga serious talk about climate change. Lake looked great, blue, clear rippling with the caress of the wind. Down in Washington Congress has passed the Climate Change legislation that will lead to Cap and Trade.
The image of Stephen Harper standing with President Obama declaring that he finally had someone to work with on environmental issues will now come to true by default. He will have no choice but to tag along because of pre-exisitng trade agreements.Mr. Harper has done nothing. Actually nothing is an appropraite description, his inaction has allowed a criminal amount of time to pass while one in four children develop asthma and one in two Candians will not only hear about Cancer in theoir lifetime, they will have it. But now, provided the Senate gives the nod we can be sure that Mr. Harper will drag his recycled heels to keep us tethered to all that we have known but ill equipped for what we are on the edge of becoming.
